Practitioner Scope of Practice and Fee Structure with contact information
Corrine Warbuton, R.Ac, R.TCM. Registered acupuncturist, Registered TCM herbal practitioner at Essential Health Centre on the 2nd Floor at the James Bay Community Project Open Mon-Fri 9am to 6:30pm. By appointment only. All acupuncture treatments are 60 minutes, including the first visit, cost $85 (including tax). MSP covers $23 per visit up to a max of 10 visits/year for patients who qualify for premium assistance. The patient pays upfront and is reimbursed by MSP in approx 6 weeks. Herbal consultations cost $85 for a 60-minute consult. Herbs cost $5 per day (including tax). If a follow up consult is necessary, it's $50 for 30-min. Dacia Moss is a certified Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner also trained in craniosacral and myofascial release therapies. She works with clients to help them reduce their stress and stimulate their body's innate healing potential. Dacia works with patients receiving cancer treatment and provides palliative care and support. Dacia has clinic hours on Mondays at the CCHC. Sliding fee scale $50 to $100 per 75 minute session. Deanna Wildeman. is a Registered Midwife. Midwives are trained health care professionals who provide comprehensive and supportive care during pregnancy, labour, birth and for six weeks postpartum to healthy women and their newborns. Deanna has clinic hours on Tuesdays and Thursday at the CCHC. She attends births at home and Victoria General Hospital. Derek Carroll is a family physician who trained in Ireland. He was one of the original physicians to provide health care at the James Bay Project in the 1980's and he's glad to be back to his home base. Derek provides primary health care through BC MSP funding. 250 388-6811

Maureen Williams, Naturopathic Doctor earned her doctorate in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University, a four year, federally-accredited naturopathic medical school in Seattle in 1995. She lectures extensively to both professional and lay audiences on topics including cancer, heart disease, menopause, anxiety and depression and is an author and researcher for several on-line databases of scientific information about natural medicine. Naturopathic medicine employs nutritional, botanical and homeopathic medicines to re-establish health by stimulating the immune system and detoxification pathways, by directly fighting infections, or by promoting specific hormone or neurotransmitter synthesis. These interventions can be used effectively for chronic conditions such as arthritis, allergies, depression, anxiety, diabetes, chronic fatigue, digestive problems, autoimmune disorders, cardiovascular disease, menopausal symptoms, menstrual problems, and cancer. In some cases they are best used in conjunction with conventional medications. Maureen has clinic hours Wednesday through Friday at the CCHC. Dr. Williams is committed to accessibility and ooffers free 15-minute get-acquainted consultations, and has sliding scale fees to any patient in need. Shoshana Scott has been a Homeopathic physician in private practice since 2001. Her patients range in age from infants and the elderly, those chronically and those temporarily ill and individuals seeking to engage in preventative health practices. Fee for initial visit is $135.00 plus $15 one time filing fee plus the medicines. Medicines are $15 per bottle and generally 3-4 medicines are given following an appointment. The cost for follow-up appointments is $85. There is a 10% discount for Co-op members.

Susanne Hunter combines counselling with bodywork, working with individuals, couples, and groups for women helping them to deal with life transitions, depression, loss, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting issues, workplace issues, emotional and social aspects and impacts of physical health issues. Fees per 1hr session offering on a sliding scale $50 to 120. Special fee arrangement can be made for very low-income clients.
