February 2010 Newsletter

Happy New Year!

Our health co-op has been busy since our last newsletter. We have received comments, feedback and suggestions, and are responding to you. We have updated our website to better address reporting back to our members, we are organizing a forum to build on the past efforts and progress, and we are organizing our next series of Choices for Healthy Lifestyles.

We are focusing in on looking to strengthen our community programs by looking at the effectiveness of our programs, the financial requirements and the necessary volunteer efforts. We continued to build key partnerships in our local and provincial community, and are further developing our Board and committees, all to carry us towards the next stage of our development.

We have received comments from our members, which have included the need for better communication to you, in particular to sharing the results of our past forums. In response, collations of these data are now posted on our website.

As we grow in our numbers, our demands for programs and services are growing as
well. We require the resources in order to meet these demands of health care that
we all embrace and which Victoria needs now more than ever. Currently we are
developing a volunteer data base, for those of you who wish to actively participate.
So keep your eyes peeled on our website for exciting opportunities, and updates on
activities.

VCHC is still working through various processes related to investment but can
receive, and welcomes any other form of monetary support. Please plan to contribute
by using services at the Wellness Clinic, participate at the silent auction during our
next forum on February 20th, or donate directly to VCHC.
