From doctors to integrated energy workers, from physiotherapists to hypnotherapists, naturopathic doctors to homeopathic doctors all practitioners are dedicated to working together to improve your health and wellness. The donation money you pay goes into the Co-op Health Access Fund designed to support member participants access complimentary health care modalities. Here's how it works:
Become a Member of the Victoria Community Health Co-operative
The Wellness Clinic is open to member-participants of the co-operative. You can either join the co-operative before the clinic starts or you can join the co-operative at the clinic itself. Click on the following link to find out how to join the co-operative: Join the Co-operative.
Choose Your Practitioner
Each month prior to the Co-op Community Wellness Clinic you will be emailed a notice listing the practitioners who have volunteered to provide their services that month. Have a look at the practitioner profiles and what health benefits their modaility(ies) have to offer in order to decide what type of treatment you would like to try.
Set Up Your Appointment
Once you decided on your practitioner call the VCHC telephone number (250-483-5503) to book an appointment. If you have any questions about what is right for you, contact the co-op by phone or you can email or call the practitioner directly. Their contact information is included in their description.
Going to the Wellness Clinic
On the Sunday of your appointment come to the Co-op Community Health Centre at 547 Michigan Street between Government and Menzies in James Bay (Google Map). If the door is locked just press the button to the right of the door marked "health reception" and someone will come to meet you. Please arrive 15 minutes before your first appointment to fill in a medical history and sign a consent form. After your session, pay what you can afford, knowing that your donation goes towards helping to create a healthier community. If you would like a taxable receipt, you can make your payment to "Creating Community Wellness", our sister organization that has charitable status. Our Treasurer will send you a tax receipt by mail. The Co-op accepts cash, personal cheques, as well as, debit and VISA and Mastercard payments.
Continuing to Improve Your Wellness
Member participants are free to continue to work with the health practitioners outside of the clinic. Arrangements can be made directly with the health practitioner. The Community Wellness Clinic seeks to establish relationships between member participants, strengthen the community of the VCHC and improve individual and the overall health of member/participants.
